Abstract
The research focuses on legal and policy issues associated with foreign investment in the energy, and in particular the gas sector of the KSA. The study found the most important problem perceived by foreign investors in KSA is the Shari'ah (Islamic Law) which prohibits the institution of Riba, (Usury). This problem, however, never posed serious problems between the KSA and foreign investors in the KSA oil and Gas sector, and because the KSA follows the Shari'ah, which compels the performance of promise when engaged, coupled with the applicable dispute resolution mechanism, this reduces the perception of political risk in favour of the foreign investor.
