Abstract
The thesis addresses whether the presence or absence of a financial profit motive alter management decisions and require the creation of a Decision Support System (DSS. Case studies were made of the Kuwait Finance House (KFH) and the Kuwait Zakat House(KZH. Findings reveal that there is little difference in the quality or formats of information between the organisations and that they follow the same principles of planning and time horizons. Decision categories were similar, but there were differences of emphasis based on the nature of the activities of the types of organizations. Access to DSS is not widespread in either organization.
