Abstract
Muslim countries need an Islamic insurance system in order to better develop economically. This thesis utilizes a modified Delphi method that includes model formulations and questionnaire rounds, which were used to evaluate questions regarding Islamic insurance. The questions posed centered upon topics such as the framework necessary for Islamic insurance companies to develop, how to determine and distribute the profit or loss rates and premiums offered, product design, the role of governments both in regulation and assistance, and how best to promote the growth of an Islamic capital market.
