Poverty Alleviaton through Zakah and Waqf Institutions: A Case for the Muslim Ummah in Ghana

Zakah and Waqf are two institutions in Islam that help eradicate poverty and improve the wellbeing of society. Zakah is effective in the process of creating funds but waqf helps improve the social wellbeing of people on micro and macro levels. The paper will be discussing how the two Islamic institutions try to reduce poverty.
