Islam is a total way of life; the principles at its core are universal for all places and for all times. If business were to be transacted in accordance with the concepts of Islam, society could be profoundly changed. In Islam, there are proper ways of earning an income and improper ways of earning an income. If there is exploitation involved in a transaction, the transaction is an improper way of acquiring funds. Trade should be for mutual benefit. Bribery, hoarding, and excessive prices and profits are not just.
