Abstract
This research emphasizes the role that Islamic microfinance can play in achieving and fulfilling the targets of socio-economic development in developing countries with particular reference to of the Republic of Chad. One of the major manifestations of economic and social underdevelopment in Chad, as in other developing countries, is the lack of financial resources, the low level of technology, and the lack of skilled human resources which are necessary to bring about real development. One of the main objectives of microfinance institutions is to support the SMEs by trying to provide sufficient finance to them. Islamic microfinance has increased progressively in the world, particularly in poor Muslim countries, as a trustworthy alternative, which lets poor populations have access to basic financial services to compete its peer counter. The thesis provides some recommendations to policymakers, Islamic Microfinance institutions, entrepreneurs, and SME managers to decide the appropriate strategy to improve the SME sector in Chad. |
