(Independent Financial Researcher, Dubai, United Arab Emirates) Upon completing her undergraduate studies in the area of Banking and Finance, Zhamal worked as an analyst and practitioner in the field of project management in the Kyrgyz Project Promotion Agency. Her role was to help clients structure their project proposals in order to receive the funding. In June 2010, Zhamal had successfully completed her MSc in Finance and Banking with a specialization in Risk Management from the British University in Dubai, a program which was administered in association with the CASS Business School. As the subject of her final dissertation, Zhamal chose the “Comparative Analysis of Risks in Sukuk and Conventional Bonds.†In recognition of her strong academic background, Zhamal received a scholarship from the British University in Dubai. While in the United States, Zhamal completed graduate courses in the area of Corporate Finance at the Harvard Extension School. Zhamal's views on the subject of Islamic Finance were published in the Islamic Finance News (Malaysia). In addition, her paper on sukuk was selected for presentation at the Durham Islamic Finance Conference-2010.
