(Doctoral candidate, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India) Salman Siddeeque Ali is a doctoral student specializing in business policy at the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. His major research interests are the internationalization and re-internationalization of firms, corporate diversification strategy and economic performance linkages in emerging economies, and the impact of organizational and functional structure on firm performance. His other research interests include studying the role of economic incentives, such as oil, on the political developments of the Middle East, as well as studying the state of art in current Islamic financial industry practices with respect to the original teachings of Islam. He has completed his Bachelors in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from Calicut University. He worked as an R&D engineer at EG Kantwalla Scales Pvt. Ltd, as a lecturer in Instrumentation Engineering at MES College of Engineering, and as the branch director of UBL-India, an educational services company, before joining the doctoral program at IIMA.
