(Graduate Student, Glasgow University, Glasgow, United Kingdom) Murniati obtained her Bachelor in Accounting from the International Islamic University Malaysia and Master of Accounting from University of Indonesia. Prior to her service in Tazkia as a management board member and senior lecturer, she has worked for banking industry, audit firm, and IT company in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. Currently, she is in the final year of her PhD journey in Islamic accounting at the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, as well as a regular academic referee for an Emerald Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business Research. She has presented her researches on Islamic finance and accounting in a number of international conferences and published them in academic journals. Her current research employs political economy of accounting to analyze financial reporting standardization for Islamic financial institutions including Takaful industry.
