Financial Consultants, Mumbai, India A graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Khatkhatay completed his MBA in Production and Materials Management from the University of Poona. His interest in the field of Islamic banking and finance spans over three decades. He established India’s first organized Islamic banking institution called Baitun Nasr in 1973. Later on he helped establish India’s largest Islamic finance company called Barkat Investment Group. He has also served as the Executive Director of Dallah Al-Baraka’s Indian Associate. He has been one of the main architects behind establishment of the Federation of Interest-Free Organization (FIFO) in India and has been actively engaged in the Indian Islamic Fiqh Academy’s proceedings on matters related to Islamic banking and finance. He has also been a faculty member of Aligarh Muslim University’s Faculty of Management Studies and Research. He has widely written and been invited to speak at various national and international seminars and conferences on Islamic banking and finance.
