Independent Sharica Consultant; Washington, D.C. Muddassir Siddiqui is an independent sharica consultant to Fannie Mae and other American companies on issues of sharica compliance in concluding transactions involving Islamic finance. For 20 years, he served as the legal counsel at various ministries of the government of Saudi Arabia. Siddiqui is a graduate of the College of Sharica at the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia. He has also combined his sharica studies with the study of the common law of England and the United States. He received his LL.M. from Temple Law Center and Harvard Law School and has been a member of the New York Bar since 1983. Siddiqui served as the imam and religious director of the Islamic Center of New England from 1975 to 1980 and was among the founders of the Islamic Center of Boston. He has lectured on the subject of the sharica at various international seminars and conferences.
