Green, Stephen K.

Executive Director, HSBC Investment Bank; London, United Kingdom Stephen K. Green has been Executive Director of Investment Banking and Markets with HSBC Holdings plc since March 1998. Green began his career with the British Government’s Ministry of Overseas Development. In 1977 he joined McKinsey & Co., moving to The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in 1982 to oversee corporate planning activities. Since 1985, he has been in charge of the development of the Bank’s global treasury operations. In 1992, he became Group Treasurer of HSBC Holdings plc. He was made a Director of HSBC Bank (formerly Midland Bank) in 1995. Green is a director of HSBC USA Inc., HSBC Guyerzeller Bank AG, and HSBC Republic Holdings (Luxembourg) S.A.; a member of the Supervisory Board of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt KGaA; and Chairman of HSBC Holdings’ subsidiary HSBC Investment Bank Holdings, responsible for the Investment and Private Banking activities of the Group. Green received his bachelor’s degree at Oxford University and a master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
