(Senior Advisor, SEDCO, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) Yousuf Khayat joined SEDCO in 1996 as Senior Vice President of the Financial Investment Group. For eight years, he oversaw the development and implementation of SEDCO's financial investments program. That program included externally-advised listed equity portfolios, venture capital and private equity funds, fixed income investments and timber funds and all investments were shari‘a-compliant. He then became the Managing Director of SEDCO's Direct Investment Group and since January 2011 he has been a Senior Advisor to the CEO of SEDCO Holdings. Early in his career, Khayat worked with Saudi American Bank in the Private Banking Group and later in the Corporate Banking Group. In 1986, he helped establish the bank’s London branch, where he managed the bank's relationships with European financial institutions, Saudi Corporate institutions, and private banking clients. In 1990, he returned to Saudi Arabia as a Division Head in the Corporate Banking Group. In 1993, he joined AMIZ EC, a private equity investment firm as Executive Vice President. Throughout his career he served on the Boards and Committees of a number of privately-held and publicly-listed companies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, Mexico, Turkey, and Egypt. He also served as a member of the Economic and Social Advisory Board of the Governor of the Makkah Region. Yousuf graduated with a BA and a Master's degree in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
